The 2003 OGS conference, Ohio: " 200 years of Heritage, was held in Columbus on April 25 and 26, with Kip Sperry as the featured speaker. In addition to the many excellent workshops, there were two highlights for the 11 members of the Seneca County chapter who were in attendance. Ruth Brill received the Volunteer of the Year award, and we were named the Outstanding Chapter of the Year.


Ken Davison submitted the chapter of the year nomination which outlined the achievements of our chapter in the areas of publications, education, and records preservation. Our sponsorship, along with Heidelberg College, of the German Heritage conference last November was a major accomplishment for the chapter.


At the 2005 Annual Banquet of the Seneca County Genealogical Society, Joan Dysinger was recognized for her years of volunteer service to the chapter, especially her over 20 years as co-editor of Seneca Searchers. She received a wooden desk set handcrafted and donated by Don Heuring.


2006 marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Seneca County Genealogical Society, and the chapter was recognized at the annual business luncheon of the OGS conference on April 29th.Diane Gagel, President of the OGS, presented a certificate of congratulations to the chapter on the accomplishments of the past 25 years.
